I have recently dealt with Aspire Visa. I was delayed in paying for two months. I again and again told the card company the date I would not only be able to catch up but pay a significant amount. This company continued to call me 3-4 times a day on my home phone as well as my cell phone. 7 days a week. YES, even on Sunday!
There was one lady who "seemed" to be so very helpful.
She told me she could increase my credit limit and that would help me avoid the late charges. I was ever so thankful. I asked if this would help me get back on track when I made my significant payment on the card. She said "Yes, it will help and just make sure you stay up to date this time."
I thanked her over and over again. I couldn't imagine a company being so helpful. Well, what seems to be to good usually is. They led me to believe that my card was back on track after making up two payments. I did that over the phone (in which they charge another $15 for using check over the phone) then I paid a $300 payment which was over half the balance owed. I never received any more credit on my card. I emailed them. (They have changed their way of contacting them. It is near
impossible for you to talk to an "actual human" they refer you to correspond via email". I got a
letter back. "Please allow ten days before your credit shows because this is our "hold" time to
make sure the check cleared. Ok, simple enough I thought.
The 13th day, I wrote another email. Come to find out, I got a letter saying that they went ahead and closed the account because I didn't hold up my bargain at the beginning. NEVER did they tell me that. They claimed they were helping me out. NOT only that, a day later they called me up with their AKA name of "Merge Mastercard".
I'm not able to have my Visa card but they are so generous to offer me a completely new credit card of which of course has all the high fees to pay over again. My opinion. Beware of this company!!!
