Juniper Bank sent me a letter along with convenience checks offering 0% interest until January. So I took advantage of it. I must not have read the fine print. There was a $28.30 convenience check promotion fee for writing the check! In addition, as long as I made other purchases on the credit card, I had to pay the entire balance (including the amount of the convenience check) in full by the due date; otherwise, I would be charged interest.
When I called Juniper to discuss this, I was informed that they had no way of separating the convenience check transaction from the other transaction. So, the 0% interest offer is bogus! I asked what the interest rate would have been on the transaction for the first month—and I was informed $9.07. So I am spending $28.30 promotion fee to save $9.30!!! I am incensed by this! I got no satisfaction in my conversation with the "customer relations" associate and her supervisor. I am cancelling my account with Juniper.
