Pinnacle debt collection / Dennis and unknown woman Misleading consumers, lying about the debt, failing to answer questions

I received a call from a woman who did not identify herself, but did say she was with Pinnacle Financial. Yes, she did say this call was for the purpose to collect a debt. She called me about 5pm on Aug. 3.

I asked for her name. She refused to provide it. I asked her for specifics of the company she was representing. She refused to provide it. I asked her to clarify exactly what this was for, from, who when she failed to respond I told her do to what she had to do but do not bother me. I also told her I was going to find out about her company myself and file a complaint.

On the web I found this company and called. I spoke to a man named "Dennis" who said he was a supervisor. He lied when he told me the company's office is in Minneapolis. It is in Carlsbad, Ca, they may have a call center there but I asked for the company's headquarters.

This is the killer: He said it was for "19 accounts" for a doctor's office from the year 2008 and 2009. I asked him did he verify his information before his girl began harassing phone calls? I know the doctor's office and I am still a patient. I also have a letter stating I have no debt to them because in the main doctor sold his share and those of us getting false bills — just mistakes they said — wanted to get it in writing we owed no money.

The new company that owns this doctor's office is poorly run. A debt from 2007 needs to be notified in not five years later I told him and I also told him I had a letter stating I owed nothing. I pay my co-pay when I go in you have to do so before you're seen.

There are no separate "19 accounts" and I told him that in asking did he even have an understanding of the business his employee was calling about.

My feeling is this company is at best being irresponsible and potentially causing a hit on a person's credit report, at worst, they knowingly persue false claims they just don't care and will harass and probably end up putting a hit on someone's credit report.

I asked him to state in writing every "19" accounts and each amount and what they were for, or from and mail it to my post office box. The call was taped, but he failed to inform me. At the end I asked why he failed to inform me of taping the call, that it was the law. He had no answer.in fact, at hearing what I had to say I believe was disturbing to him because I don't think they know or are taught the law, nor do I think they even care, nor do I think they have respect for anyone's privacy and when someone counters that they are in the wrong, they freak.

I would love to talk to a lawyer to see if I can do anything. To actually concoct a debt dating back to 2007 is too much to fathom. And these credit reporting agencies don't bother to check whether information is accurate they just take whatever info is given to them. The consequences can be grave if it gets on a person's credit report, as hard as credit is to get these days.
