I have tried since June to get refinancing. I did everything they asked me to do. My credit was ok, but not perfect. I paid my $300 for my appraisal and was told that it should be wrapped up in about 3-4 weeks tops. I said fine and indicated that I really needed the money in order to straighten out my finances.
July rolled around and I heard nothing from them. I called and was told there was a delay on my appraisal. Stall tactic one. I was assured that we would go to closing. He promised me that. I was concerned because my mortgage was about due again and in 4 plus years I never was late on a mortgage ever. The guy told me that I should not worry and only a late charge would be added on. The next week rolled around and no closing and my mortgage was due again.
I had to borrow money to pay the mortgage as my other obligations were all due as well.
He then started dodging my phone calls. I could not get a closing date.in the meantime, my credit which I worked so hard to rebuild was getting trashed and still is.
I called his supervisor and the head of the company. Supposedly he is now gone and I got a call from one of the managers. She stated that they wanted to close next week and was sorry about what happened as the previous guy working on the refinancing did nothing and the refinancing just sat there the entire month of July.
I was heartsick over this and now my financial problems are getting worse. It is now August 31 and I still have no refinancing. They claim they are waiting to hear from my second mortgage place Citifiancial. The papers were sent to them on August 2. This guy also said that my credit rating was dropping. I said really since they had 3 credit reports from day one.
They did not ask if I had any other assets which I did and did not mark it on my application. I asked them why they did not do this and no answer was given.
The only thing I have gotten from the Mortgage Exchange is lies and BS. Major stall tactics. The manager who took over my refinancing assured me I would close, now I am hearing the same song and dance from her as I heard from her previous employee. I did nothing to deserve this.
Since it is obvious that they are jerking me around, I am now going to seek out an attorney. I cannot blame them for all my financial troubles, but had I gotten the refiancing my financial problems would have improved greatly and my credit would not be trashed.
