My husband and I were contacted by Van at Rescue Mortgage (aka Mortgage Depot) just out of the blue, and he asked if we'd be interested in refinancing, that he could get us a better interest rate. We were skeptical at first, but thought we'd check it out.
Van got all of our information and said we'd close by the end of the next week. Sent an appraiser out, the appraisal didn't go as high as Van needed it to, so he scheduled another appraisal. That appraiser never showed up, so we contacted the appraiser. The appraiser said Van had called him and told him not to even come here to appraise the house, that he wouldn't get what he needed to make the deal work. Van never even called us to inform us of that!
Van also told us not to make our July mortgage payment, and we left him numerous voicemail messages the day our mortgage was due (which he never returned). Now, we have a late fee added to our mortgage and our credit is shot again, all because we trusted someone who said he could save us $200 a month!
Do not do business with rescue mortgage/mortgage depot!!!
