I googled Free Annual Credit Report and was directed, apparently, to Experian, one of the 3 agencies which provide credit reports. It has been over one year since my last free credit report. Experian charged me $31.95 for my FREE report, and enrolled me in their membership. 8 days later, my bank account was charged a $17.95 fee for this bogus membership.
I IMMEDIATELY contacted their customer service number but was told that this second fee would not be reversed. When I attempted to cancel the membership, the female CSR continued with a hard-sell for membership at a reduced rate. Question: Why do they charge $17.95 for membership when they are ultimately willing to cut that fee in half?
I paid over $50.00 for a FREE annual credit report. I have no idea how I would be able to get my money returned. This is a sham and a SCAM. WATCHOUT people!!!
