Citifinancial aquired our loan in July when they bought out Associates. We made our payment on time in June 02 to Associates. Over the last two years we have went round and round with Citifinancial about that June payment.
They say we didn't make the payment but they also say they dont have any of Associates records. We have the check that cleared and the bank statement to go with it.
Although they have called us everyday, all day long from 8:01 AM to 8:59 PM, harrassing us about being a month late because each one we send in goes towards the previous month, we got to the point where there was no use arguing with them. We really don't appreciate someone asking us if we feed our kids like we pay our mortage payment.
We get 4 to 6 letters a month saying we did not make our mortage payment as promised. We have never promised them anything. We refuse to make a payment we dont owe.
Upon trying to refinance to get out from under Citifinancial we found out they report us late to the credit bureau every month.
We have called Citifinancial pretty much everyday since, everytime, I talk to someone new who has no idea what was previously discussed. Customer Service tells us they dont have our loan on file, they put us on hold and we end up in India talking to someone who doesnt speak a bit of english but gives their name as Jane Smith.
We have over $2,000 in unknown charges, we were billed a $110.00 for a drive by apprasial that we didnt request or even get a copy of. Our ten year loan now has 5 extra months addes to it. NO ONE can tell us what the charges are for, only that they were carried over from Associates, funny they can carry over excess charges but not see our last payment made to Associates.
We have one year left on this loan that was orginally done owner finance we did not sell it the owners did. We have an amoritzation schedule. We live in Florida and are only bound to our orginal contract. We have NEVER signed any papers with Associates or Citifinancial.
Citifinancial recently told us that the extra 5 months was because we refinanced, we requested a copy of that and received a copy of our owner finance contract.
If we refinanced how come our interest rate is still 9%, our payment never changed and we never received any money?
In requesting a payment history the paper they sent shows us making every payment due to them since July of 02 when they took over, they told us they could not go past the time they aquired the loan. Thats BS! We are on social security and only send our payments out on the 3rd, which are due before the 15th per our orginal contract.
We paid extra money at the closing to make the payments due in that time frame. Citifinancial swears our payment is due on the first of every month with no grace period. On the advice of our attorney we will be sending them a demand letter for explanation of the extra charges and the 5 extra months added on.
From what we have read on here it doesn't look like we will get a response. We are still waiting on a pay off statement we requested on July 12 and good for only 30 days.
Our balance according to our records is $3,622.40, they have a balance of $5839.59 so each month the wrong amounts are going towards the principal and interest.
We are flat our fed up with their loan shark tactics, the constant harassment, being called dead beats and going around in circles with people who dont know anything. We will file harassment charges along with numerous other charges.
Every time they call we log it, name, time etc, we keep all the demand letters they send every month. We hate to have to pay an attorney but have been left no choice, we want our title when we come to the end of our amortization schedule we have made payments on time for 9 years and we wont let some fly by night company rip us off!
