Mr. Bonno had been doing my taxes for years.in 2008 I became a single mom with an infant, the same job I had for nine years, same reporting deductions on tax returns and same 401K contributions that I had given for since I got out of college. Nothing had changed this year except one thing, a collection notice from the IRS. The IRS stated that my taxes had been filed incorrectly and now I owe $1,200. My CPA, JOHN BONNO, would not answer my calls nor would he call me back when I left messages with his office. After no return calls, and a Levy Letter from the IRS, I went to his office to straighten this mess out and I finally got to sit down with him. John stated that the IRS had made a mistake and not to worry about it and he would get it fixed. I am still a single mom and still getting levy letters from the IRS. Two months go by, no word form John, another Levy letter comes in the mail. I finally contact the IRS myself. The IRS tells me that my CPA mis-catagorized my IRA contribution, the same contribution that I have had in years past. I went back to my employer to make sure that they did not file something different than the other years and they sent me the same filing as they had in the past. After gathering all of the information, I went back to John and again, he did not answer my calls, return phone messages or keep set appointments. A CPA is someone that you should trust the most and now I feel like I am alone, a single mom and trying to fight a giant, the IRS, and deal with a crooked CPA. I highly caution anyone that uses this firm and especially John Bonno. If anyone has any questions, I will be more than happy to elaborate. Thank you for your time!!!
