I was called by John Sr. (refused to give his last name) on May 23. He told me he sent the excavating crew to work on my pool installation, but he forgot to send a blank check with them to buy the needed stone. He asked me to pay for the stone and he would reimburse me immediately. I paid for the stone because I couldn't let the workers actually show up and then go home without actually doing any work.
Castaway had made MANY promises of start dates, but never attempted to honor them. So when John Sr. Called me with the request, I agreed. I called over 11 times by my phone records to have my money returned as promised.By now John Sr. Was no longer working in the office due to his inability to work with customer according to his son, John Jr. John Jr. Now became my contact person.
Unfortunately John Jr. (again no last name was given and office workers told me they are under strict rules as to not reveal either man's last name) would only sporadically take me calls or returns the messages I left. John only came out to finish the work when I threatened to file a complaint with the police. But he still would not pay me my money.
He made several more promises to meet and pay me then, but he never showed up. He will not take my calls or return my messages. I have sent original copies of the receipt to Midge Kalai, the owners wife and customer service representative as she requested. But she too will not return my calls or send me my money.
The office workers tell me she rarely shows up and that John Jr. Is often there but will not take my calls. I have tried unsuccessfully for over two months to have my money returned, but both Johns and Midge have stalled and lied and evaded me continually. The total for the two loads of stone from Dryer's Quarry, Inc cost 364.28$ and 362.47$ for a total of 726.75$
