I am so glad I found this site so quickly, all I had to do was type "problems with arcadia financial" and WHAM! I am appalled at the stories I've read about this company but I fear that I may have fallen prey to these @$#0 (%$ too!!!
My situation isn't nearly as bad but I am writing this in response to Ralph from Sparks NV who is trying to file a class action suit. I, too, have been made victim to the treachery that is Arcadia Financial, Arcadia Transouth and whatever else they want to call themselves. Did you know that Citigroup cashes the checks you make out to them???
I have tried to set up regular payments to them automatically for over a year, and the payments are never posted on time, causing my checking account to constantly be off-balance. Once they waited 3 months to cash in an NSF check when I had already brought my payments up to date! Since then, I can never speak to the same person twice, and just last week, I spoke with a guy who offered me to defer a payment because of a recent minor financial problem I've encountered. Yesterday, I get a call from somebody claiming to be his manager, asking me why I needed the deferral, intimidating me with a patronizing tone and then hung up on me!!!
I didn't realize what this involved but I am definitely NOT going to let them charge me with unsubstantiated fees at the end of my loan! I am getting rid of this car lickety split because I have worked too hard too long to get sucked into this trap and I've put up with about as much nonsense as I can stand with them! Don't trust Citigroup/Citifinancial either!
These people must be stopped! I am so sick and tired of these finance companies that take advantage of you when you're down and then just keep raping you! Ralph - I sincerely wish you the best of luck with your legal endeavour. I am in the process of gathering all transaction information I have had with Arcadia and would be happy to share it with you if it helps.
