In September my Chapter 7 bankruptcy was discharged, including the mortgage with Bank of America.in late October of Bank of America sold the mortgage (which legally no longer existed) to EMC.in November of and for several months after, EMC attempted to collect from me on the mortgage, in violation (I now find out) of federal bankruptcy laws. EMC then "foreclosed" on the mortgage and reported the foreclosure against my credit report.
After more than a year, I have only been able to get Experian to correct the report to indicate the mortgage was actually included in the BK. EMC could care less. Repeated calls have had no effect.
Today I start with a lawyer (so I gat to spend money to correct their screw-up), and who know when it ends.
