I was trying to save my rental property in Sparks, Nevada, The property was in default and I wanted to try to get a loan modification so that I could move to Nevada and live in the house. Beverly Jackson of Credit Mortgage said that she can get it for me for a payment of $2500.00. I told her that my funds were low, so she said she would take $1,000 and the rest when I signed papers with the bank. I was in constant contact with her and she kept advising me that everything was going smoothly and asking for the balance so I send her a person to person check for $995 and told her I still haven't received the papers from the bank, so that I could move to Sparks, Nevada, where the property was. I finally drove to see the property as it had been rented for a number of years. It looked fine and called Beverly and told her that I needed her to call the bank and find out what is taking so long. My son who lives near to the property said there was lock on the door and a sale sign on the property. I called Beverly and advised her of this. When she finally got back to me, she had nothing new to add, so I called the bank directly and they said that the property wasn't available for me to move into and they knew nothing of negotiations with Beverly Jackson of Credit Mortgage. I advised Beverly Jackson that I want my money refunded and wrote her a letter to that effect, I also sent a copy to the Department of Real Estate, CREC 1560 Broadway Ste. 925, Denver, Colorado 80202.
I received a response, but they don't do anything about returning my money.
