I made an online loan with Eastside Lenders in 2009 during a difficult time and the amount was for $1000. I was told I could make payments but was made to believe it would go towards the principal. Only to find out the contract refers it to "refinancing" the loan. I made a total of 6 payments every two weeks totalling $1860 only to be told after paying $1175, NONE of it went towards my original balance of $1000.
I actually had some guy call and threaten to come and physically threaten my 63 year old dad who would't take his rudeness on the phone. I have now received a call from an "attorney" based out of New York who states they are going to file suit against me unless I pay them another $900. Have no idea what to do but I do know this company is completely thuggish and are crooks! They operate out of DE because of the lack of any laws there on these types of loans. Do not do business with them. Any advice or previous experience with them is appreciated.
