They never told me why until I attempted to get another Mod. (Keep in mind, my financial situation is getting worse but surviving. My industry is feeling the pinch.) These guys come off like theyre here for you and not to worry. We help those who are facing hardship and we have many ways to help you well, great! I can now sleep tonight. I told my wife, I think theyre going to help us and theres hope for us. Boy, was I wrong. This time, I was smarter this time around entering into negotiations with them.
In my first call, I notified them that all calls are being recorded for possible future legal action if so needed. Theyd knowledge my statement. They gave an offer for a mod and it sounded too good to be true. Mr. Sheep. Yes Mr. Ocwen. It will take us 30 days to review your docs and dont worry. Everything I see in front of me looks pretty good to get a Modification. Awesome! This is good news and thank you so much. 30 days go by and I was able to pay one more payment one day before my grace period ended. I get a message via (Ocwens website) the next day after paying them online. Your
Modification in under review for 30 days. Please dont call us, bla, bla..
Something Smells in West Palm Beach. They contacted me and told me that I was making, according to my financials, $9000 a month. Nope, not me. If I was making that amount, I wouldnt be on the phone talking to you. This is where the deaf comes in. I told them I was a contract worker and that you made a mistake in your additions. Wow, he actually agreed and would resubmit the numbers again. Wrong. I was now rejected because Ive never been late on my payments. Well, duh. DIDNT YOU READ MY HARDSHIP LETTER?

understand them for the most part. They have a job to do and theyre scripted. I have to protect my family. I know Im ranting. This is what Ive learned. You should find a good lawyer and stop trying to outsmart these A holes. If you do have a job but youre having a rough time and you pay your bills on time like me. The only thing you need to worry about is Deficiency Liabilities. Yes! Your credit will be hit but its the lessor of the two evils and with discipline, youll be cash rich again and your credit will get better too. Be careful with short sales. They can come after you for the balance but there is a way to enter language in the contract to avoid it. The only reason to do a short sale is to not have such a big impact on your credit report. Thats it. Also, 55% of homeowners who do get a modification end up foreclosing. Why! Its all designed to maximize the investor, not us. Remove your emotional attachment to your home, (It was hard for me to do) and think of it as a business move. Youll sleep better. Dont lie to yourself and believe they want to help us. They dont.
