First, when I opeaned my checking account, the rep. Told me all checks were free, not just the first box. I told him that would be the only reason I would open an account If all the checks were free. Found out after I opened the account that was a lie. But I let that go.
The biggie is when I opeaned a savings account that was supposed to be linked to my checking account so If I overdrew from the checking account, the savings account would cover the amount without a fee from the bank. Well, I purposely did not worry about amounts that I wrote on the checking account because I knew I had enough in my savings to cover them and the two accounts were linked.
The bank did not take the amount from my savings and they charged me $187.00 in overdraft fees.
Of course they had no record of my accounts being linked, so they told me, and the man that set the accounts up was no longer an employee. How convenient.
I told them I had a contract stating the accounts were linked but I could not find it. They told me if I closed the account I would not be reimbursed for the fee but If I could prove the accounts were linked they would reimburse the fees.
Another thing I do have is receipts when I went to the ATM to check on the account. It said I was $130.0 overdrawn in my checking account. So I transfred $300.0 in my checking account. Then I checked the balance of my account and it said I had $170.0 in my checking account.
The bank could not explain, they just said I was overdrawn and had $187.0 in fees.
I will never do business with them again. But they did teach me to hold on to all contracts, trust no one.
