About 8 years ago I applied for a 250,000. Life insurance policy with double indemnity for accidental death. I paid the money and signed the papers. I have been paying on it all this time and realized that I have never seen a copy of the actual policy. I phoned Globe Life and asked them to send me a copy of my policy and coverage, and a copy of my certificate. They were very nice about it and promptly sent the papers I asked for. When I recieved the papers and read them I discovered a major problem&It was not the coverage I applied for and have been paying for all of these years!!! The policy is strictly for accidental death, with a family rider. It does not cover normal death and does not have the double indemnity coverage for accidental death. This policy is worthless to me and my family and I have been paying it for about 8 years now without knowing they had switched what I wanted for something else. That is probably why I never received the original policy when I was accepted for coverage. I believe they used a classic Bait and Switch. I very clearly remember reading the application with my wife and discussing the coverage I was applying for. It was clearly for Life insurance coverage (normal death) with double indemnity coverage for accidental death. That is what I am supposed to have been paying for all of these years. After reading all of the bad publicity about globe Life and how they have treated their other customers I can clearly see how they conned me with a classic Bait and Switch on my coverage. I would not recommend this company to anybody. If you do apply for coverage with this company I would suggest that you take all of the paperwork to a lawyer and have it double checked before wasting very much money on it.
