Dec. 22, my accounting mistake due to not recording a gas purchase, so my account was under 7.58
Dec. 24, I came in to put 200.00 and got a record of my transactions to see my mistake. So I went to the banker on duty to see whether I could have a reversal of the 28.00 overdraft fee. I was successful (and I thought all was merry and bright), however...
The overdraft fee read that I was under 35.58 on Dec. 23, therefore...
Dec. 26, I went in to cash a check from my Dad for 40.00, and since I'm a pessimist, got another report of my transactions. I was informed there was another overdraft fee of 28.00 plus a monthly maintenance fee of 9.95 because I did not have 15 transactions in a month (which was 10 when I opened it, but they somehow changed the rules.
Dec. 26, I closed the account, but I had to pay 25.00 out of my Dad's Christmas money check just to make everything square again!!!
The reversal of the 28.00 overdraft fee was a nice gesture, but it was not a forgiveness of it!!!
This bank will stop at nothing to eat your hard earned money or Christmas gift money. I was lucky because if I had not had my suspicions, I would have missed an opportunity to close these clowns down on Dec. 26 and I would have been left with an aftermath of unfair and fraudulent stacking overdraft fees unknown to me until maybe January!!! I signed up for a college checking/savings package and the overdraft fee on that according to their website is 2.95 a month, not 9.95 a month for falling under the expected transactions a month. Also, the website reads 10, not 15!!!
