It is interesting to note that all the warm and fuzzy reviews are written by Crescent sales people or employees! Must treat their people well anyway.
I own a small business and have taken credit cards for several years. At the end of my contract through another company, a Crescent rep stopped by and explained how much money they could save me. It all sounded feasible, and I asked many questions and was given satisfactory answers. (Note to the person who says that the people who are unsatisfied should have asked questions; It does no good when the answers given are false!)
I was repeatedly assured that I would not pay more than 1.59% batch and settlement fees a monthly maintenance fee a one time setup fee.
The bottom line is that there were numerous 'charges' that were filled in after I signed the contract. I was amazed when I received a copy of the contract, and immediately contacted the sales rep. He basically told me he didn't know anything about anything, and to call the company. The company assured me that most of these charges were just the normal agreement, but didn't apply to me since I had a 'special' agreement.
In my business, I try to be 100% honest and up front with my customers and expect the same from others, so I foolishly took their word. There was a matter of a large annual charge that they had 'forgotten' to mention, but the person I talked to at Crescent said he would try to get that reduced or eliminated. Yeah Right!!!
To sum it up, if there was any truth at all in what I was told, it was hidden by so many lies and half truths that I would not be able to find it! The charges are not that much higher than many other companies, but the discrepancy between what they say they will charge and what they actually do charge is amazing!
I only wish I had found this site before I signed my name on the dotted line.
