This company performed an unauthorized hard enquiry that I had no clue about as I am not even interested in a mortgage and had no idea who they were. The only reason is I found out from Experian that a company had done a hard enquiry on me.
I contacted CBCINNOVIS which was the company that showed up. I contacted them and they said that ENVOY Mortgages in Stoughton, MA had performed the hard enquiry and gave me their number. When I called the number and asked them to remove the hard enquiry they told me they can not. This is true. I now have to go through a letter writing and waiting process to remove this unauthorized enquiry from my report. They also said they do not need my consent to do one (CBCINNOVIS told me they needed my consent to do so). They said I must have filled in something online. They said they had no record of me and weren't even sure they were the company that did the enquiry and they would get back to me, but CBCINNOVIS ensured me that the clearly were the company that did.
