I was having a hard time qualifying for a loan so I decided to try something online. I put my information in and a couple of days later got a call stating that a private lender agreed to take my case on and loan me the money that I was needing. The only thing that was required was to send in $1473.72 as a collateral payment.
So I agreed to make that payment. Then to find out they wanted me to send this via Western Union or Money Gram to Canada (Which is where the private lender resided). I agreed to do so. I put the money in a wire transfer to Western Union with one name. Then got a call back from Harmony Lending to change the name on the transfer to another name. I did this, only to get a call about 5 minutes after that had been done from Western Union that they would not process this as it was an alert for Fraud.
I then contacted Harmony Lending once again to advise the situation. They advised me that it was not a fraud and sent me a letter stating that once I made the paymetn via Money Gram to Canada (to yet another name) that the loan would be deposited into my account. I did this and once again got another call from Money Gram that they would not process the payment as it was suspected Fraud.
Then I contact Harmony Lending to see if there is another way that this could be done as I was not very confident that this would go thru (Not to mention a little scared). I asked if I could send half of the payment and the money be deposited into my account and then I would provide them with the other half of the payment.
They agreed to this but said they needed to verify that the money was transfered before they deposit the money into my account. I agreed. Then once the second money transfer was done I was told that it would take about 30 minutes and then they would call me back to verify the funds.
I never received a call back. I then contacted them repeatedly to get status. Finally I got a hold of the person I was working with and was told that she had sent the request for the funds to be deposited and that I should contact customer service in order to get the status. I did just that.
Then when I contact customer service, they tell me that I need to make an additional payment of $300 odd dollars to get the money within 45 minutes. I have had it by this point. I advise the company that if they are not going to follow the contract that was signed that states if I provide the $1473.72 then the money I requested would be put into my account that I would just like a refund of the money and the cost to have the wire transfer done (twice).
He then proceeds to tell me that he can process the refund but that it would take 23-25 days for me to recieve my money back. This is not good as it took me 10 minutes to send them my money. He hung up on me, I called back and demanded he provide me a refund or process the deposit of the funds to my account. He said he could not do that. I asked to speak to his manager and he said that he was the only one that I could talk to. As far as I know everyone but the owner has someone they report to!
There is always someone else you can speak to. He refused to connect me with a manager. I requested that a refund be issued to me so I am hoping that it arrives in 23-25 days. Otherwise, I guess I am just out of the money I worked long and hard for to go to some scum that will rip off lower class people who are only trying to better themselves and their family.
