Hello John Kroger and Oregon Dept of Justice,
My name is Josh Blaize I have been dealing with Bank of America in regards to a home loan modification here in Portland, Oregon. I have invested hundreds of hours on the phone and dealt with a dozen different associates at the bank for about 18 months now. 12 months ago the B of A began charging me Escrow, even though I pay my own property taxes and Insurance. B of A has claimed over 6 times in the past 18 months that they are nearly finished with my home loan modification. I have been given so many excuses by every representative, your loan is under review, it is in underwriting, you make too much money to qualify for this particular loan, then followed by you make too little to qualify, we have lost your paperwork and please resubmit it again, or we did not get the correct paperwork. The last conversation I had with the bank is that they suggested that I process a short sale on my property and just not pay.
After drawing it out for the last 18 months I received a phone call today from a B of A collection agent saying that my morgage is overdue 3 months. I am certain I have not missed a mortgage payment ever. Through numerous stalling tactics, mistakes, excuses, and lies my past perfect credit is now being ruined because of the mistakes B of A has made. I was under the impression that this particular loan modification under Making Homes Affordable Program was to help lower your interest rate and monthly payments and not put you into a position where my family could lose our home. I don't understand why B of A has lead us on for the past 18 months and finally giving us excuses that completely contradict each other. Such as first making too much money and not missing payments and then making too little little money and now accusing me that I am in default when I have not missed any payments. I have been researching this issue for the past few months and have come to realize that I am not the only one that is being wrongly represented by Bank of America. Please help my family and I address this multi-billion dollar bank who is doing injustice to hundreds of Americans in need of home loan modifications.
