When our loan was taken over by Litton Loan the dream of owning our first home became a nightmare. I wont go into boring details, I will sum up their M.O.
First, you may miss a payment or two and fall behind due to lifes circumstances. Then those happy folks at LLP send you a nice letter threatening foreclosure. They state they don't want to foreclose, please call them so they can HELP.
Second, you call them only to be greeted by a screaming maniac who threatens to take your first born if you don't pay. Today. While trying to calm yourself you almost beg to be given a second chance. And so it begins...
At that point a nice LLP person will get on the phone and make "suitable" payment arrangements. They take your financial info and begin to set up your "budget". And voila! A payment you really can't afford is born.
Then those starting-to-not-be-so-nice LLP reps demand that you put down a huge payment to cover Attorney fees to "set up the forebearance". You wait to get the letter almost happy that LLP has redeemed you. But wait! The $1600 bill for the attorney arrives with the forebearance letter typed by none other than that nice rep that helped you set up the forebearance.
You decide maybe you wont sign it, seems awfully fishy and unfair to boot. Well think again, if they dont get that $1600 paper then you can expect your payments to be returned.
SO you pay. Next thing you know you cant pay the EXTRA and call LLP to see if they can wait a day or two till you get paid. Nope, no can do. You're in foreclosure. Sorry
Sooo, you get another default letter, you call LLP and promise to pay an amount given to you by them jerk reps. You pay. Maybe you're thinking, Good Glory Im glad that over with!
Think again, you can now expect to be thrown into the foreclosure game. They refuse your money. It seems that as soon as LLP got off the phone with you when you promised to pay they went ahead and sent ya to foreclosure. Why you ask? Who knows. It does tend to make you think... OK if they couldn't wait 10 days for my money then why did they say OK? Who knows? And why cant they wait ten days? If I dont pay they can go ahead and foreclose. Big deal, saves them time and money right? Who knows, they apparently like putting ppl thru hell.
THATS when they get ya... NOW instead of resending the arrears you already sent they want A WHOLE LOT of attorney fees too.
If you don't pay, they foreclose.in some cases they foreclose anyway. So in a nutshell, they are crooks and liars and they know it. They are good at it, they like it. That is the only conclusion that makes sense. And why in gods name is no one doing anything about it? Where is the government? They want my money to serve me, well how bout some service? Can't someone do something about this?
And I leave you with a THANK YOU LLP! Now in addition to the crap you've dealt me I get to visit Bankruptcy court to get some protection from you. You WONT get my house but you will get my money. You only half won.
