Buys Polaris Card but sends "new" statement 1 week before due date

Has anyone had this happen to them? They bought my Polaris Star Card account and then send us the "new" statement only days before it is due. Now the payment is due in 3 days and I won't make the deadline due date. I am wondering if the finance charge will now go up (polaris was charging 6.9%) because I obviously won't make the deadline.

Any suggestions???
