I applied for a payday loan online awhile back. I recieved it and paid it off. However now, through the world of internet fraud. Some india scammers have all my information. At first I got phone calls from numbers that displayed the number. Now I get phone calls from either unknown, 0000, or 800, and sometimes they just go straight to my voicemail. I have no idea how they can go straight to voicemail but it happens. I have been getting almost ten calls a day.
All start the same a man with an india accent calls me. He is hard to understand. But basically he threatens you. Saying I need you or your retained attorney to call me back. He says charges have been filled or I have been found guilty and that if I do not handle it immediately I will have to deal with what happens next. He then ends in a weird way by saying have a great day or a good day or bless you.
I have talked to several of the reps and told them to stop calling me and I know they are committing fraud. They just start yelling at you and threatening you more. So no point in even getting into it with them.
From my research I have found that they are India Scammers that use stuff like throw away cell phones, VOIP, ext. To keep changing their numbers.in the end they want one of two things 1. The rest of your personal information that they don't already have. 2. A credit card or debit card to pay back the money you supposidly owe them. Either one is a BAD IDEA. Do not give them anything, if you don't want to take this post seriously just google the phone numbers they are giving you and you will find several more like it. Or get an attorney and have him deal with it. But do not let these people get away with what they are doing. I am sure they are getting some people to do it and getting lots of money from innocent victims.
I just wanted to put this report up to stop them from hopefully getting some peoples hard earned money.
Some names they use are Jimmy Brown, Mark, Tim, all american sounding names. And the most recent phone numbers have been 310-405-6493 646-389-2748.
Please don't let these scum bags get your money.
Sorry to say though if you are like me I am most likely going to have to change the phone number I have had for ten years because of them. I have not found a way to block all their calls.
