I was layed off in november I called ocwen to see if there was anything they could do for me. I could only contact someone in Bangor India who said ther was a program to modify my mortgage. I sat on the phone for an hour while " we " filled out the application, going through our monthly expenses. After it was completed, my representative from India, told me I didn't make enough money to recieve help! He told me I had to have a positive balance of money after all bills were paid at the end of the month in order to recieve help. I responded by saying " if I had extra money at the end of the month, then I wouldn't need help." To which, he hung up.
After a few weeks we recieved a letter in the mail stating that they were now going to start paying our property taxes (which are only $1100 a year) and our payment was goin up about $250 per month! We have been fighting with them all winter, and now we recived a letter from them around the first of Feb saying we had to pay nearly $3000 by Feb, 20th to stop forclosure. We got our incom taxes back and put money with it and sent them the money on Feb 12th, and today, the 18th of Feb we recieved notice they were forclosing on our house! I contacted their attorney, in Bloomfield Hills Mi, and explained the situation to no avail. Now they want me to fill out the " loan remodification " again, the one I had already filled out to begin with. The one I don't qualify for because I don't have " extra money " at the end of the month!
We do not want to loose our home we have been in it for 25 years. My grandfather and his siblings were actually born in this house! We don't know what to do. The only thng Ocwen will say is that I need to get a better job.
