Portfolio Recovery has been calling me for about one year now. They do not leave a message. I do not take calls from number I do not know, so it goes to the answering machine. They were calling 3 times a day until I blocked there number; now they have new numbers they call from. Many numbers show on caller ID as a city, or "sunrocket DID". I have never taken there call.
I suspect this is from an old dept, however my credit shows no late payments or monies due going back 7 years.
If it is so important they can mail me a letter. I have read they Portfolio will send out a 1099-C to any one that send them a letter to stop calling, then it would be up to me to prove it was not my dept.
How long will they keep calling before they give up? Should I send them a cease and desist letter? If so will they sent a bogus 1099?
