We moved into our mobile home in August we have been here almost a year in a half. We moved here from New Jersey and needed to find housing quickly and were told about Oakwood. From our first visit we were told that they could get us in a home quickly which they did but failed to tell us at the price for that. We moved into a home with broken windows, no light fixtures, no stove and a refrigerator that smelled like some thing died in it. After six months of living here we suffered some water damaged on our front door which a year later is still not fixed.
We were told that our insurance was inclued in our monthly payment but a year later we recieved not one but two different insurance bills.
My daughter who also bought from Oakwood a few months before I did is now in debt and out of her home.
Also our insurance papers list our Account Number but my daugthers address. I fell sick and was waiting to recieve my Disabitliy and was daily harrassed by Oakwood and was repeated threaten to be removed from my home if payment was not recieved in an hour.
I was in the Hospital having major lung surgery and was still harrassed daily by them.
In the 15 months we have dealt with them I have found out just to have my payment early and fix my own repairs.
I have atempted to get other insurance for my trailer but was told by Oakwood that I signed a contract saying I would keep the trailer insurance up to date with there company American Banker. I live on a fixed income and I am trying to make a bad deal liveable but Oakwood doesn't care about people just the all mighty dollar.
I pray that our lord and savior finds forgiveness for this company and all of it's employees for if the ever come in to need that they are not treated the way that they have treated me.
