FCNB I wrote a check to another account, when it didn't arrive, they sent another 2,500 without cancelling then went bankrupt

I utilized one of their checks to pay 2,500 to another account. When it didn't arrive at it's destination, FCNB sent another check without cancelling the first indebting me for 5,000. Then they proceeded to go bankrupt and now expect me to still pay.
