I refinanced a mortgage which was closed by Absolute Title Agency (chosen by the mortgage company) on October 23. I was told that the cash out proceeds of this loan would be dispersed 2 - 3 days later. I designated that this dispersement should be mailed to my home address, which should normally take 1 - 2 days from the office of the title company. On October 28, when I had not received any check or communication, I phoned the title company with my concerns. No one answered the phone, so I left a message that was never returned. I phoned Absolute Title Agency again on October 29. No one answered the phone, and again I left a message. They returned my call and told me that they had sent the check to a different address on October 26. They stated that their system had automatically sent the check to the address being financed, not my address. On November 5, I again called Absolute Title Agency telling them I had not yet received my check. I asked if they could find a way to get me my funds, since it had been two weeks, and they had mailed it to the wrong address. They refused to help me in any way and responded that I should call the post office to see where it was.
