CareCredit GE MoneyBank
Unprofessional Customer Service Reps

On February 16, I discovered that a payoff was rejected by CareCredit for some unknown reason. Upon rejecting the payment, I was notified by the financial institution and called CareCredit. They were closed so I made a small pmt online until I was able to find out what happened. They charged ME a late fee and then claimed that they had no record of a rejected pmt! I spoke with a Rep who was condescending and patronizing. He proceeded to tell me that "... Accounts have due dates..." "If you don't pay by the due date it is considered a late pmt." REALLY? I tried to explain what happened and he mocked me. I asked if I could have the late fees waived since my pmt was rejected on 2/12/10. He went on to tell me that I had rec'd 2 waivers in the past. I explained to him that I had auto pmts and that the fees were waived because it wasn't my error. Even my bank contacted them to correct the incorrect postings in June and September. For each of those, they posted the electronic pmt a full 24 hours after the due date even though the bank confirmed that they had it. They waived the fees because of their errors. He told me that there was no info. Confirming that in the notes of my account. I explained that I have 2 other accounts with GE Money and each pmt is scheduled for the same day. They have never held my electronic pmts for a day or more. He mocked me and was extremely reluctant to connect me with a supervisor. I asked him to not be rude, patronizing, or condescending to me and just transfer me to a sup or mgr. As he was transferring me he laughed and said that "What a waste of time..." Clearly to someone else! The escalation rep came on after 14 min on hold. I explained everything got names and id numbers and he waived half of the fee. Half? I paid the entire balance on time and they rejected it!!! I am very disappointed and frustrated. Clearly, this company can be the poster child from changes in deceptive, misleading, and faulty credit practices. I like GE Money and have had various accounts with them for years. However, I suggest that they drop CareCredit as a client IMMEDIATELY! The WWW is loaded with negative accounts of experiences with CareCredit! I wish that I had known their reputation before I dealt with them!!!
