The wording on this solitication is pretty clever. But I do have a real Visa with a $250.00 credit limit. Offering me ten grand got my attention!
So I looked for the key words, something like '... To buy our merchandise.' Nothing of the sort is in the letter, only the line "valid exclusively toward all credit purchases from credit provider." This line is supposed to tell you that, in spite of their prominent mention of Visa and Mastercard, you are not actually being offered credit of any kind.
What is really interesting, though, is that you can't even go to the FAQ page on Credicorp's website without giving them your name and address. You certainly can't check "credit terms" or "interest rates" or whether there are other fees. Nor can you find out what kind of merchandise they sell, without moving yourself from their "stupid list" to their "ASTONISHINGLY stupid" list. (More junk mail, anyone???)
I've heard that some people tape that return envelope to a brick, and make them pay the postage for letting me express my opinion of their business honesty.
Anyone know how many crimes I'd commit if I did that to Credicorp?
