Potfolio Recovery is calling me daily. Sometimes they call more than once a day. They once called Saturday morning at 8:10 am EST. They have called during the week nights at 9:45 pm EST. I once hung up on them and they called back three times one after the other. What's frustraing is I "settled" this account (credit card) that went deliquent 17 years ago while I was married. I had to re-fi my house when I divorced 10 years ago. At that time the credit card agreed and accepted a settled amount about 50 cents on the dollar ($400). I did not know and was not told that they can sell the short fall, apparently, and the purchaser of said short fall can pick up the chase all over again. Of course now after years and years Portfolio Recovery has added (FEES) and now I owe about $1,600 but they "would be willing to give me a deal and settle with me for only 50%". Wow! What a deal! Of course it didn't work out for me so well the first time.: (
