Even though I was paying more than my monthly minimum, on time, Green Tree tried to force me into foreclosure by failing to apply my payments, showing me owing more and more each month, sneding me a notice of default, all the while claiming that they would fix my account, and that I should not worry. They had set up a paper trail that, had I not contacted a lawyer and threatened to sue, would have, by California law, allowed them to sell my house from under my feet.
I am currently suing Green Tree, and National City Mortgage, who sold Green Tree my loan, and who seem to work in cohorts with Green Tree on scams such as the one they tried to suck me into. I pity those who do not have the financial means to hire a lawyer. This company would have screwed me over big time. Their actions are illegal, to say the least.
