As another person had stated, I too received a phone call this morning, with a weird number #052497347. I answered but then told them they had the wrong number. Come to find out this company called my mother in law, looking for my husband. We were given a 813-319-2652 to call back. I called then I went thru 3 people before getting the supervisor on the phone. No one else would talk to me. Once I had the supervisor on the phone, (mind you his had an Indian accent, and did not speak very good english so I did not catch his name, but it sounded like Tom or John) Once talking to the supervisor I explained to him, that we did not inquire or receive funds of $300 from any cash advanced service. I asked him what the name of the company was and he said Cash Advance USA. Then I asked for him for all the information about the account, all he would say was we will mail you your documents in 2 days. I asked how would he know where to send them because the address you have on file we no longer reside at and havent since June. He said I will just take the social security number and look up the right address. He said this transaction took place in Nov. If we dont comply there will be legal proceedings that will take place and we will be forced to pay the $300 plus additional fees. Then he told me not to call back again. And he hung up. (very rude I thought)
I cooled off for a little bit, then called back, after first filing a police report, calling my bank, and checking out our credit. Once someone answered the phone I asked to speak to the supervisor. The supervisor got on the phone, I asked him if he could tell me the exact location of the company so that I might reach them and get this resolved. He told me that information would be put in the mail to us, and for me not to call back again. I asked him where he would be mailing these documents to and again he said they are being mailed, I said can you not give me the address your sending them too. No he said you will get them in mail.
I then asked him to please give me this information, and he again said please dont call back again, if you do then I will call you a 1000 times each day. I told him to go ahead and I would file another police report for harrasement.
Needless to say I finally found this report on usacomplaints.com, and confirmed that this information is true and correct. If there is any way of stopping these people from ruining our lives that would be great. I am absolutely tired of these scam artist.
