BBVA Compass Bank is one of the worst bank that I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Guaranty Bank was great before BBVA Compass bought them. When dealing with BBVA Compass be aware that they process withdrawls before deposits making it easier for you to be charged the outrageous $38.00 overdraft fee. Say you make a purchase on a thursday after business hours for $100.00 dollars, but you do not have the hundred in your account. Your payroll direct deposit hits your account on Friday at 03:00, and it is your pay check for say $500.00. The next day, Friday, they will not process your direct deposit for the $500.00 until they process the withdrawl of $100.00. They can see that you have $500.00 sitting there but because the $100.00 was used before the $500.00 came in, they will process the withdrawl, hit you with the fee of $38.00 and then process the direct deposit if $500.00 which was just sitting there but they ignored. Is this legal? Yes. It is morally! @#$%ed up because the American tax payer just got hosed for hundreds of billions of dollars to help these worthless dirt bag banks in the first place and this is how they thank us? I have one word for anyone who is thinking about opening an account at BBVA Compass Bank, RUN!!!
