In, FL Rip-offs. Thank you! I'm glad that I found consumer complaints

Thank you! I'm glad that I found your site - I have been searching the web for background info on Haldane when I came across yours.

I was laid off less than two weeks ago. This past Sunday, I responded by e-mail to a Haldane ad in the Sunday paper, and the next day I got a call from the Tampa office. I went in Tuesday for my initial meeting with a Haldane rep.

Reading the stories from other people who have dealt with Haldane makes my skin crawl. I experienced the exact same treatment with the rep using catch phrases about "re-careering, " etc. She had me read numerous clippings and letters from satisfied clients.

I was told that their office interviews 50 people a week, and only accepts 10% to work with. At the end of our meeting, she mentioned a "fee" and that she would explain more in my second meeting. At the time, I was emotionally upset, thanks to the rep's manipulative questions and comments — repeatedly reminding me of my concern about being able to meet the ongoing needs of my wife and two children — so I was not in the proper frame of mind to ask for more information.

My wife and I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon for a second meeting with the rep from Haldane. Why is my wife coming along? I think it's because they want use the emotional pitch that they can help us, it's worth the cost to find the kind of job I want and that they're the ones to make it all happen — for a fee. And who controls the money at home? The wife does, in most cases. So, bring the decision maker, make them too feel lost and in need of Haldane's help. It's so obvious.

I called and canceled my appointment. What a relief knowing I avoided a waste of time and money. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

To those of you reading this who are job searching, stay at it, keep a positive attitude and above all — give yourself a break. You know you're doing all you can do to find a job. With persistence and the right tools and attitude, you will find the job you want. You know it! Best of luck to all!
