Increased my intrest rates after my account was closed

In may i closed my merrick credit card account do to an increase in the periodic rate. Upon contacting the bank they advise there was nothing they could do to lower the rate so i elected to close the account.in december the bank chaged there intrest rates and said althought my account was closed they were increasing the rate to 32 percentage on any balance due. I spoke with several folks at merrick and asked for the rate to be changed back to what it was when the account closed and they again refused. Not sure what to do but watch this bank they will steal from any consumer in the guise of an opt out for a closed account
