I checked my Regions online account one morning before going Christmas shopping. I made several purchases on my Regions debit card that day. I came home and checked my account online and saw that an unexpected charge had come through which would have caused an overdraft. I went immediately to the bank and put the extra money in the account to cover the overage. The very next day I was hit with almost 200.00 in overdraft fees! The bank placed a fee on every transaction I made that day. I tried to discuss this with customer service, my branch manager and a supervisor of customer service. I got the same robotic answers, convoluted explanations of policy. It's almost like they lie in wait for the right opportunity to really screw their customers! I have a car loan with these people and have banked with them for years. I very seldom have an overdraft, but when I have and it was legit, I paid it without fuss. This is unconscionable to me. How dare the banks treat the people that bailed them out in this manner!
