In late 2000 I ordered a Sharp 0Z750 electronic Organizer from SPIEGEL. The unit arrived BROKEN. I returned it POST PAID at MY EXPENSE after calling Spiegel.
I was NOT to pay the original shipping since the Item was defective. It was for an Anniversary present so I had to run out and buy one here. I received a late notice the next Jan 01 and called FCNB who verified I OWNED NO MONEY. Bal $0. After 6 months I received a bill for $149.63 from an attorney Mitchell N. Kay.
I called his office and got NO WHERE. I wrote him and asked them to get it straight. I kept receiving bills from his office as well as from a Credit Recovery Service. The Recovery Service sent me a BILL for $1496.30
I wrote them. Another recovery service (RJM Acquisitions) letter and then one from Capitol ONE authorizing a CAPITOL ONE VISA CARD for this $1496.30 I DO NOT OWE ANY OF IT! How does any company add a 0 to a bill and just put it on your CREDIT? I have written ALL I am writting THIS IS FRAUD! I received ANOTHER letter from Attorney Kay asking for a settlement of $74.53. I DO NOT OWE IT.
Kay's office 1-800-275-4860 can't understand WHY I will NOT pay $74.53 MUCH LESS $1496.30! I feel like First Consumers OWES ME for all of the wasted time, MY TIME. HOW can ANY BANK get away with THIS?
