Consumer rip-off fraud contact Spiegel with your FCNB Credit Card problems Oregon

I discovered that my FCNB account was being closed, and that was fine with me - I would just pay off my remaining balance as usual.

Until I received the next statement - with a late fee on 6/1 while my payment posted on 6/2. I was not happy - but I thought it might have been my fault. Then I made my payment for 6/30 - and sent it out way ahead of time, only to receive my next statement today - with no payment posted - but a late fee on 7/1.

This statement looked different - so I looked for the customer service # on the back (516-576-8706) only to call it and find it was only automated information with no live person on any end. But it did tell me my payment posted on 6/27.

So I started surfing the web trying to find this 'Card Processing Center/CMS'. I did find an interesting comment from an employee at FCNB - which stated that it was not FCNB who closed accounts, but its parent company Spiegel. FCNB is actually a division of Spiegel.

I went straight to the source and called Spiegel's customer service # which is 1-800-345-4500 and explained the issue. She was more than happy to credit my account for the $35 late fee on 7/1 and transferred me back to Spiegel to give me credit for the $35 late fee on 6/1.

My balance on the statement I received today was $119.92 - minus the $20 dollar payment that posted on 6/27 and the $70 credit for the late charges, that makes my balance $29.92 which sounds much better to me.

The problem was that while accounts were being transferred from Oregon to New York, payments were still going to the Oregon address and posting in the system. While new statements with old information were being processed and mailed in New York. Now that CMS has taken over the collections, you should be able to call Spiegel and have them help you with your account.

So obviously, this was not FCNB's fault, but it's parent company, Spiegel (Greedy - shame, shame). Just because Spiegel couldn't collect from it's non-paying customers, it decides to royally screw it's paying and loyal customers.

I hope this information will help those of you who are having problems with your FCNB CC like I was. FCNB is actually a creation of Spiegel - contact Spiegel with your FCNB CC problems.
