I was recently charged an overlimit fee twice in three days.
When I contacted customer service, they refused to reverse either of these charges due to their policy. I was charged the day that I went over a fee of $39.00. I made a payment larger than the minimum payment, to cover any interest or fees that might be applied. When I received my next statement, which was under my limit, I had been charged another overlimit fee. I was advised their policy is that they charge the date that you go over (in my case 10-16-09) and if your account is still over at the beginning of the next billing cycle they charge you again (in my case this was on 10-19-09) Therefore, in 3 days I was billed $78.00. This policy does not give a customer time to correct the problem. I feel that this is unethical and possibly illegal. I think this is a situation that Congress needs to address.
