Ripoff $600 increase in pymt without notice, told us not to pay pymt until dispute settled then put each and every month on our credit report and charged late fees! Stay away from Chase. Run!

Chase bought our loan from another company almost immediately after we moved into our home. We literally thought we were going to vomit when we received notice of that in the mail.

My husband had previously had a car loan with them and it was literally a nightmare. Payments never posted even though they were sent like all the others, and when they found their mistake, they didn't back date it, put it on my husband's credit, and refuse to fix it.

Anyway - on our house loan - when the loan was set up by the previous company, the payments were not set up to have enough put into our escrow for taxes. For two years, Chase did nothing about it. Then in June of our house payment went up $600 without notice, without warning. We advised we could not pay that kind of payment and still have food on the table, etc. But we were willing to pay the regular house payment we had been paying until this dispute was resolved. We wanted to do some research and find out how this could have happened and talk to our county's tax assessor, etc.

Chase advised us on several occassions not to pay the house payment until this dispute was resolved. We had to write Chase a letter and allow them 30 days to respond. It took them longer than that. There were several letters sent to Chase over a period of a few months and each time we had to allow them at least 30 days to respond.

We finally sent them money for the taxes actually due (over $4000) and had to wait for them to correct our payment. That took another month for them to do that. We wrote them and told them on the phone that it would take us a couple of months to catch up as we just sent them over $4000 and they said that is fine, just catch up asap, the dispute has been documented. Now each and every month this was in dispute is on our credit report and they have charged us late fees on each and every payment during that time, which they assured us would not happen.

Now when we call, run around, run around, run around, and all they can tell us is send another letter and wait another 30 days for a response. No one has responded to our requests. We have tried to refinance, but no other company will touch it because Chase has put late payments on our credit.

I also have several family members, extended family, co-workers, who have had same and worse experience with different Chase companies and refuse to do business with them anymore. We will never, ever have anything financed through chase again. Believe me, we tell EVERYONE we know to stay away from Chase. RUN! They do not care at all and DO NOT know how to do business.

EVERY TIME YOU CALL YOU GET A DIFFERENT PERSON AND EACH AND EVERY ONE TELLS YOU SOMETHING DIFFERENT. You tell them, "Well, Michelle said she would document my account and we would not be charged any late fees." That person says, "Well, I don't know why she told you that because it was not correct." CAN THEY ALL GET TRAINED THE SAME, PLEASE, SO THEY WILL ALL KNOW TO TELL PEOPLE THE SAME THING?

They also refuse to fax you or send you any confirmation of any conversation in writing. I guess because they LIE and change their minds by the next time you call.
