I was browsing through a local newspaper when I noticed an ad as follows: Need a loan? Any purpose. Fast Results! Call 1-866-422-1422.

I was greeted by an automated system which I was instructed to leave my name and phone number and someone would contact me within 24 hours.

The following day, I was phoned by Kevin Martin of Accurate Systems who said they were a company which matched lenders with borrowers and proceeded to take basic credit info. I told him I needed $20,000.00 to build a house. He asked what was the most I would be willing to pay monthly to get this loan. I said $400.00.

A short time later, he called again telling me about a fax that he had sent with some forms to fill out. The fax was basic personal info and credit info and mentioned a "retainer fee" but would not give the amount. Flags went up because of the West Indies address and the vagueness of the "retainer fee".

That night I searched the Internet for hours looking for any information on either of these two companies. At last I came upon consumer complaintss and read various horror stories of desperate people (like me) who wanted to believe this was on the up and up.

The next day I was again contacted by Mr. Martin who explained that I would be granted a $20,000.00 loan with a five year payoff at (you guessed it) $400.00 per month if I did as he instructed. Along with the forms, I was required to FedEx a bank money order or cashier's check in the amount of $595.00 (no postal money orders allowed) International Priority shipping and then call him back immediately with the tracking number.

I asked Mr. Martin who the lender was that I was dealing with, and he said he was not allowed to divulge that information until after the "retainer fee" was received. He pressed me until he had an exact date and time that the package would be sent off. I have no intention of sending this deceptive company any money and I suggest you don't either!
