October I purchased a home in Bastrop Texas. Since then it has been a nightmare and I have never woke up.
To start Thanksgiving day of 2002 it rained and the septic system backed up into the house. It was a wonderful site and smell especially with my family and friends being here. Every time it rains now this happens.
The yard and surrounding area was built into a "fish bowl" and all the water just accumulates around the house and creates a moat. Several times, I have had to take off from work to rent water pumps to keep the water from entering the house. The same builder built my neighbor's house and they do not have the same problem. Only my house has the moat that floods.
Cracks have begun to surface throughout the house. Almost every corner and every room has cracks and or some type of seperation.
The builder had someone come and "caulk" the cracks and seperation in the walls. This looks tacky for a new home concidering the caulk is bright white and the walls are off white. Not to mention everyone asking why the walls are caulked.
The kitchen counter seperated from the wall it is supposed to be attached to.
I am guessing the builder ran out of tile because there is obviously mis matched tiles used for the floor.
The A/C condenser drain line is sticking up in the air and I have to use blocks of wood to allow it to drain freely.
The foundation is now beginning to crack and expose the pipes. This is not only unsightly but it is also a possible problem. I know I live in Central Texas but if it ever froze I would be up a creek because the pipes are exposed.
The front porch joists are beginning to move out of place. Mind you I work in electronics and I do not know much about structure but, this is not good.
Here it is June and all that has been repaired on the house is a sink (which was missing from the laundry room). The reversed operation of the plumbing (turn on the cold water and hot comes out) on two sinks and a leaking shower.
I have emailed, called, met in person, had numerous meetings with these people with no results. A direct quote from the builder was "If we can't build the houses in 90 days we do not make any money". If 90 days is all it takes why would I be waiting for 6 months to have the necessary repairs made to the house in a timely fashion?
I have notified the Property owners association, HUD, City and County personnel, EPA, County Heath Inspectors, my lender and insurance agency. No one seems to be interested in the pictures or video or the health hazard this is.
If anyone has any advise or any suggestions please post them. At this time I am willing to try anything to solve this problem. Please help!!!
I have email after email of promises, plans, and scheduled meetings for the repairs needed to the home.
To all the members involved in the problems with the house I sent this report to: Here are the problems and the chance to show the world that you are a decent company with personnel who care about after sale relationships. Or you can ignore it like you have me for so long.
