My 71 year old mother called me frantically today saying that my ill father had received a phone call from what was said to be a Mike Davis, a sheriffs processor, and he gave my father a number that I was to call back immediately or be subject to legal action. This distressed both of them greatly. I am disabled and have not lived with them for over 6 years.
I returned the call to find out that it was a company called Pacific Management. I asked to speak to Mike Davis and was told there was no one there that name but did I have a case number. I was then refered to a man named Tim Adams (if that was even his name) and I asked him who this Mike Davis was and he refused to tell me or how I cold get in touch with him.
Mr Adams, then told me that legal action was being taken against me by a company who I will not name her, who said I owed them $4380.00 and if I did not send Pacific Management a check for the settlement amount of 903.31 by the next day, they could do any of 4 things: garnishee my wages, file a lien on any real estate I might own, file a lien against my car, and something with my bank account (I could not write that fast).
I was told that I was sent a letter that I never received and that was all they had to do. No verification of the letter or anything. I was never informed that this was a collection agency either.
I am a disabled person who has not worked since I was attacked in 2004 by a patient at the hospital where I worked. I suffered physical and psychological damage. I do not need this on to of what I have to deal with already.
