I paid HB $1,000 for preparing 2 tax returns, but he but didn't finish even one return. He failed to appear at an IRS examination. This resulted in an automatic complete disallowance of the $28K credit I am due. He refused to return my documents, instead demanded extra payment which is extortion. I was dismayed by his false representation as a certified public accountant; instead he is only an enrolled agent.
I am going to sue him for:
- theft of personal information including my SSN, the SSNs of my two children and ex-husband, mortgage information, and financial information;
witholding personal information without regard to confidentiality and safety of my property, and with possible intent of identity theft;
- misrepresentation of his professional license;
- damages resulting from his non-appearance at the IRS examination; and
extortion after payment was made for limited service rendered.
