SO I got a call from an Eric Nelson. He told me he worked with the visa and master card banks and with the federal government in an effort to correct the raised interest rates. I told him I wanted to verify his company. So he gave me a customer service number and a web site... Well I checked the website and yes there was one and I had my husband call the customer service number (which upon reverse look up turns to be a wireless number out of rochester, NY) 5853548025
PLease know that if someone is calling you to lower your rates then get real proof. And don't believe them. Regardless of how much you may want to. I immediately call my cardmember line and had it reported stolen.
Tried to inform the police but apparently there i no way to do that with out a physical address.
I would imagine that it was a disposable phone and fake number and they just used some poor companies address. So. There you have it. Don't trust anyone calling you.
