Wrote one of those checks to my bank to cover a Bill for diesel Fuel, My Bank later called me to inform me that the check was declined by Chase, Thus incurring a charge by my bank for a bad check. I then called Chase Bank and asked what is going on. They informed me that those checks that they had sent me were for a credit card that had been lost and replaced three months ago and that the they did not apply to my current credit card therefore they could not honor the check. And no they could not apply the check to my new card. Did I not read the fine print on the paper and see that the checks were for the prior card that was lost and replaced by Chase. I said that I did not think that they would send me checks to write on a card that had been replaced three months ago and to please close my account. That I would not want to business with them anymore.
To add insult to injury chase had the Gall to charge me $39.00 for a returned check that they refused to honor in this matter. I wrote them a letter saying that I disagreed with this charge and I did not think that I should have to pay for their mistakes. The answer I get from them is a $1.00 Interest charge
