My partner Bill has received several letters from CAMCO of threatening nature about a debt to Citibank.
He does not remember any debt to Citibank. When I called Citibank to inquire they stated he did not have any debt with them.
When I contacted CAMCO to inquiry about the Citibank debt they said they could not provide me with any information.
This is the third letter. This time I spoke to a Ms. Jay Bird who when I told her I certainly contest the debt put me on hold. Shortly a Mr. John Patterson came on the line and began to yell at me, call me stupid because I did not understand how things work.
Mr. Patterson finally stated he would send me information about the original debt with Citibank.
I truly believe this organization is a scam/rip-off agency and urge you all to contact them, contest any so-called debt and state clearly you want to see original debt information and then order them to cease and desist from contacting you.
BTW, when we purchased our home in 1999 this was no where on my partner's credit report, nor when we refinanced in 2003.
