This guy is a complete fraud!!! Michael Scott Atkinson! He also goes by "Mikey". Remember the name. He is associated with the tile profession and is mostly based out of Utah.initially, he comes across as the kindest, most forthright, hardworking, reliable, honest good guy you could ever expect to meet and all his friends say he is the nicest person to be around. And they're right, the facade is "Mr. Nice-Guy" so long as you aren't aware of his ripping you off.
In reality, he is the epitome of the "wolf in sheeps clothing". He lies to your face, while he bleeds you of all your available money. If he asks you to do any business with him, run as fast as you can the other way!!! So here's the heist he pulled on us - He scammed us by telling us he had a guaranteed tile job in Hawaii and just needed the cash to secure the supplies and initial labor costs for that job to show good faith to the builders.
We fronted the money and he guaranteed us with both business and personal promisory notes, bragged of wanting to pay us high interest because he believed in "helping those who help him become successful.." took our money and then when we eventually caught him in his lie, (his first payment back to us bounced) he simply told us sorry, but that he needed it more than we did and "too bad". Said he'd just file bankruptcy to keep from paying, and just start another company under a new name.
Now here we are, out our family savings and no help from authorities. He took us (family of 9) personally for 70K cash, my sister (who he had known for 2 years) for 25K, and our 70 year old retired mother for 35K who is widowed and cares for our 24 year old handicap sister fulltime. He 3 families with one shot!!! In the meantime, he rides his 4-wheelers, a bullet bike, a crew-cab GMC with a big lift kit, added all the chrome accents, an expensive stereo, 10K in wheels and rims, bought an expensive blackberry phone, rented a brand new 500K home in a newly developed subdivision... He took our money to make his life better, kind of like the opposite of Robbin Hood - he takes from the poor to make himself rich!!!
The sick thing is that he has no remorse for any of it. He is callous, unrepentant, and audacious. We have since discovered that he has embezzled money from other people such as his previous girlfriend. He wrote himself a 15K check out of his her personal bank account, while she was on vacation with family, and then dumped her when she got back. He recently got another girl pregnant and when he found out that the baby was born with medical conditions and severe health issues, he abandoned her and ran off to Vegas to marry another girl he found. The kicker to this whole disgusting mess is that he is the son of the Assistant Police Chief here in SLC and is basically "untouchable".
So if this helps ONE other person from being scammed and frauded out of a single dime from this guy, then I'll be happier knowing that he cannot continue to hide behind his dad. We found a record that proves he's done this same thing in the past and his family bailed him out when needed, yet he scammed us and continues to run around looking for his next victim to take to the bank. Hopefully, it won't be you!!! Michael Scott Atkinson... Remember the name. You'll be glad you did!!!
